Here you'll find musings on life, birth and the messiness of being that fits in between.

What does a Doula do?

Updated: Nov 14, 2019

I believe that every expectant family deserves to be supported by a doula - that being said, not very many people actually know what a doula is or what they do.

Support the birth YOU want.

Offer physical and emotional support.

Ensures you are able to make informed decisions.

Can help you have an unmedicated birth.

Reduces your chances of a cesarean section.

Can help you deal with the unexpected.

Can be a great support for both parents.

Signposting to local services and communities.

Hold space for you to explore and work through your emotions.

Debrief your birth and help you piece it all together.

Other things include helping around the house, postnatal meal delivery, help with older siblings and breastfeeding support.
